Located on our second floor-up the side entrance The back part of the Inn was added to the original main house as apartments in the 1940’s. The staircase leading up to Dakota Suite is accessed through the side door on the north side of the Inn. As one enters this two-room suite, one is immediately drawn to the barn siding from South Dakota used to panel the suite. Filled with authentic Western cowboy and Native memorabilia, Dakota Suite’s living room is very spacious and has a large gas fireplace in its center. Next to the fireplace is a large table with chairs, and a flat-screen TV with a DVD player and cable TV. The Dakota Suite living room contains a double futon sofa and a twin bed.
The Dakota Suite bedroom features a natural log, queen-sized bed, two side tables with lamps, a clock radio, an overhead fan, an armoire for clothing storage, and a small TV with a DVD/VHS player. Heat in both rooms is provided by our circulating hot water system with British thermostat, and a through wall A/C unit with remote control is available for summer cooling. A coffeemaker with Seattle’s Best coffee as well as decaf, coffee amenities including all types of sweeteners and International Delight Vanilla creamer, coffee mugs, wine glasses, wine opener along with a microwave and an in-room refrigerator are all included as well as a large closet in the entry area.
Dakota Suite’s bath offers a cultured marble vanity for spreading out your toiletries. Your vanity offerings consist of: Hairdryer, makeup mirror, Gilchrist & Soames oatmeal soap, body lotion and conditioning shampoo, a bar of glycerine soap, our personal toiletry jar filled with makeup remover, Q-tips and cotton balls. This modern, generous sized bathroom has a tub/shower combination as well as 2 bathrobes, and plush towels for 4 people. A large view of the San Francisco Peaks can be seen from Dakota Suite’s bathroom window. An ironing board with an included iron is found in the room’s entry closet. Bathroom heating and night lights are also provided.
